The UNLOCK Car app is designed to address a common issue faced by vehicle owners: the complication of locked car radios, particularly after a battery disconnection or replacement. If you find yourself unable to access functions such as the rear view camera, AM/FM radio, AUX, CD player, MP3, DVD player, SD card reader, and Bluetooth due to a locked radio, this application promises a solution.

For those who are not the original owners of their vehicles, it is often the case that the radio code is unknown. This becomes problematic when the radio is suddenly locked after disconnecting the battery. Fortunately, this app aims to provide a permanent resolution to such dilemmas.

Rather than purchasing a new radio, the UNLOCK Car app allows users to restore their existing unit. It is compatible with approximately 99% of Japanese car radios and audio systems that feature navigation and touchscreen capabilities, although it does not support single-DIN stereos.

The process involves entering a 16-digit ERC code (not to be confused with the serial number typically found on the back or top of the radio). Users can retrieve this ERC code by following straightforward instructions provided in an instructional video. Once inputted, the app generates an 8-digit unlock code that can immediately restore functionality to the radio.

Functionality of the ERC CAR Unlock Code

Locking issues generally occur after battery failures or when removing the audio device for repairs in certain imported Japanese vehicles. The app requires an ERC unlock code or password to regain access to all audio unit features, including FM/AM radio, CD playback, USB support, DVD player functionality, Bluetooth connectivity, backup camera operation, navigation, and more.

Finding Your ERC Number

To locate the ERC number for your audio player, press and hold the main button on your navigation unit while toggling your parking lights on and off three to four times until a new screen appears. By interacting with only the active button displayed on-screen, you will be able to retrieve your 16-digit serial number. Important: The ERC number is distinct from any serial numbers physically located on the radio.
